Growing and Growing...

Here is our little rock star at 8 months old. Don't ya just love the mohawk?
And here's the cutie pie at 9 months old.
I can't believe how much Chance has grown up in just the past couple of months.
He still doesn't sleep through the night, but is no longer sleeping in mom & dad's bed anymore. (YES!!!) We finally got Caleigh to sleep in her "big girl" bed, so Chance now has his own crib. Since we got back from Canada, he has taken a liking to it & sleeps in his own room now. Hooray!!!

He has seven teeth now and loves to eat!! His favorite food is pizza :) He can feed himself for the most part, but gets really impatient when he wants to eat something right away and has to wait. That's understandable, huh? The growing boy needs to eat!

With Chance crawling, climbing and standing now, he is literally into everything! Can't turn our backs on him for one minute. Just the other day, we found him climbing the stairs all on his own. We didn't think we needed the baby gate for him for a little while, but we were wrong. It is now a must! Before we know it, he will be walking and talking. Who needs to go to the gym? Chasing after two crazy kids will be a workout all its own. Can't wait!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Earlier this summer, we planted a garden with our friends the Masseys. They were kind enough to let us grow all kinds of good stuff in their huge garden. We took a trip up there earlier this week and stocked up on the bounteous, nutritious harvest.
We were literally up to our ears with veggies. You name it...we got it. Tomatoes, potatoes, corn, green beans, peppers, and much more. It seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but after the corn was shucked, and the green beans were snipped, we blanched, then froze them so we could enjoy these summer veggies during the winter.
We also learned that when life gives you tomatoes...
CAN SOME SALSA!!
YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Canadian Adventures...

Our summer vacation...PART DEUX!!

We spent quite a bit of our summer in Canada this year...3 and a half weeks to be exact.

We spent a few days in Cardston at Aimee & Dave's visiting with the family and the kids had lots of fun playing with their cousins. We brought a bunch of Caleigh's old baby clothes for Katey, and boy did she look cute!

The next stop was to Garrington Acres to Grandma & Grandpa's house. We spent most of our time here where Greg grew up. We had lots of yummy dinners & wiener roasts, went swimming at Carefree Resort, helped Grandma can peaches, and played lots of Rook. Caleigh liked roaming around the outdoors, while Chance enjoyed the cushy carpet in Grandma's great room. It was there that he perfected his crawl. Good job Chance!

We took a weekend trip up to the Carbon/Drumheller area to Emma & Curtis' to celebrate Tyger, Caleb & Malex's birthdays. We had a picnic in the park, and then the gang floated down the river. Unfortunately, this was about the time the kids started to get sick, so we stayed behind. Eventually, we ALL got the sore throats, stuffy noses & gooky eyes that lasted the entire time we were in Canada. That was no fun, but tried to make the best if it anyway.

We took a day trip to the West Edmonton Mall. It was HUGE! It's the largest mall in Canada. It has an indoor water park, an amusement park, a pirate ship, the Fantasyland Hotel, and of course...lots of shops! Grandma watched the kids while Greg & I took a spin on the Mindbender rollercoaster. Wow, it's not called the Mindbender for nothing. My head was spinning for a good half hour after the ride.

In Calgary, we stayed at Mahiri & Richard's for a few days and had the best meals. Chef Richard cooked up some gourmet dinners for us...BBQ chicken, stuffed meatloaf, Philly cheesesteaks, and grilled salmon with a creamy chipotle sauce. Mmm..Mmm..Mmmmmm!! While we were there, Caleigh took her first motorcycle ride with her daddy. She wasn't a bit scared, but her mom was! Mahiri had a garage sale while we were there, also. We were lucky enough to get first pickings. We made off with a huge bag filled with goodies. Thanks guys!!

Before the end of our vacation, we took a trip to Calaway Park. Last summer, we didn't really get to enjoy our visit because it rained on us. This time, it was a beautiful, sunny day. Caleigh and Chance really enjoyed all the kiddie rides & couldn't get enough of them. Definitely good times...good memories.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our trip great. We appreciate & love you all. See you again soon :)
