Winter Wonderland?

In Vegas? Yup!!! It started snowing this morning and has not stopped yet. It really is a white Christmas. Here's the proof...

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Christmas is upon us already and Caleigh absolutely loves it.  We put up our tree last week and she loves the lights and all the ornaments...as you can see here.

Our ward Christmas party was last night.

  There was good food, fun for the kids, and a nice Christmas program.

Black Friday

We usually don't go shopping on Black Fridays to avoid all the craziness out there in the retail world, however this year we braved the storm and hit Walmart.  Whenever we go there, we always check out the electronics section to see if there are any good deals on flat screens.  It was crazy trying to get in there with Caleigh in the cart, but we made it through the crowds only to find the same prices.  Aren't they supposed to have awesome deals on Black Friday?  We didn't see them in the electronics section, but when we were about to leave, they had a special section near the produce department that had some LCD's on display.  They just put out a new Polaroid 42" 1080p LCD TV and it was just $598!!!  That is the cheapest we have seen in months.  So, what did we do?  We bought it!!!  There was a TV stand for $94 bucks on display too...and we got that as well.  Early Christmas present for us.  YAY!!!

Today also marks Caleigh's 10 month old bday.  Here's the little princess....

So Much To Be Thankful For

We celebrated Thanksgiving a day early since Greg had to go to work on Thanksgiving Day. Dinner was excellent! I started cooking the turkey Wednesday afternoon at 1pm and had everything ready by 5:30. I was in charge of the stuffing, gravy, the candied yams, rolls & cranberry sauce, while Greg made his famous garlic mashed potatoes. Yum! I had planned on just having my parents over for dinner, but a few things changed. My dad was sick & couldn't make it, but my Aunt Cynthia came with my mom & we had family friends in town from LA, so I invited them over as well. It turned out to be a nice little get together. We started dinner with a blessing over the food and before anyone could start their meal, each person had to tell us at least one thing they were thankful for.
There is so much to be grateful for in my life. I feel so blessed to have the family that I do. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Greg is such a wonderful & understanding husband. He works hard for our family and I'm grateful he puts up with me. I was a bit stressed getting dinner ready, and I do tend to get snippy from time to time (I have to work on that), but he just grins and bears it. I love him to death! TJ is an official teenager now, so he has his moments, but I'm grateful for the times when he tries to do his best. He made the pumpkin pie all on his own & it was pretty tasty. I was impressed. Caleigh is just a doll. I thank Heavenly Father every day for sending this little angel down to us. She makes me smile all the time! Her newest thing is pointing and saying "oooh." It's the cutest thing. I'm grateful I can stay home with her and watch her grow. It's just amazing!
Everyone enjoyed their dinner and it was so nice being able to visit with everybody. I'm grateful they all could make it & that it was a success. Next year, Thanksgiving dinner at our place again, but next time...in South Dakota. You're all welcome.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Caleigh hasn't quite got the hang of clapping, but once she saw Eli's video of him doing it, she got so excited, she almost clapped. Too funny!

Greg's friend offered his timeshare in Del Mar to us and we gladly accepted. Who wouldn't want to take a week off and enjoy the beautiful California sunshine?!

It's Pumpkin Time

Just thought I'd share some pics of some pumpkins we've come across this month. 

Here's our family at The Palazzo with a great big pumpkin.  We carved the one of Jesus' Second Coming.  Cool, huh?
And here is Caleigh with a couple of friends for a play date at The Bellagio.  It was a fun time walking around the Conservatory and having crepes for a treat afterwards.  Yummy!!!

Calender Girl

Caleigh has another photo shoot coming up to be in Wynn Las Vegas' Le Reve calender for next year.  They are taking photos of the employee's babies born in 2008, and since Greg works in the carpentry department, they wanted to do something along the lines of what he does.  So, we painted some tools pink, stuck Le Reve stickers on them, borrowed a friends work bench...and here are the amateur shots we got of our cute little carpenter.  (Plus, she's actually smiling.  YAY!)

My Little Stinker

So, today was Caleigh's big day.  Kelly told me about her friend Corrine that was looking for baby models for her little company.  She had seen pics of Caleigh and was interested. Caleigh's photo shoot was scheduled for this morning, so I made sure she was bathed, groomed, fully rested and fed before we got there.  But, by the time it was time to shoot, she decides that she's not in the mood for pictures.  She didn't have a problem with wearing the bows or braceltes (which, by the way, are super cute!), but I don't think she smiled in any of the shots.  She was more interested in eating the jewelry around her wrist.  I brought TJ along also since he seems to always make her smile, but it didn't work.  I hope Corrine was able to get at least a few good photos from it.  We'll see.  Here are some snaps I got of her (not smiling).

When we got home, she had a nice long 2 1/2 hour nap.  Then, by the end of the day, she was all smiles.  Here's TJ finally making her laugh....

I can't believe how fast time has flown by. TJ is 13 today! 13?!?! How did that happen?

Seems like just yesterday that he was turning 1. Wasn't he a cutie pie?!!! 

He still looks the same though...mohawk and all :)

What really amazes me is how much Caleigh looks like her big brother when he was a baby.  She is 8 months old today.  Here are her latest pics...
