Our Vegas Adventures 2013

SURPRISE!!!

So, we decided to make a trip to Vegas and not tell my mom we were coming.  This was the result...one happy grandma with tears of joy running down her face.  PRICELESS!!!

A VISIT TO THE DENTIST
Since my mom works at a dental office, we took advantage of a free cleaning for our  whole family.
No cavities...YAY!!!
LUNCH DATE
Met up with my very good friends, Rachel, Anna, Melissa & her daughter Adri at the Fashion Show Mall for lunch at Grimaldi's.  Good food...good times...I miss my girls!!!
FAMILY TIME
Had dinner at Ping, Pang, Pong with my mom, cousin & her family, followed by some ice cream, too.  It's always so good  hang out with them!!  The kids have so much fun with their cousins.
FONDUE FOR TWO
My friend Luda & I both had cravings for something yummy...Max Brenner at the Forum Shops had a delicious chocolate fondue for two that we shared.  The results...two happy pregnant ladies...and babies :)
THE OLIVE GARDEN
We filled up on bread sticks, soup and salad, not to mention pasta, on our last lunch with my mom & Jenelle. We were stuffed.

BIG BROTHER TJ
TJ couldn't join us this trip to Vegas, but we did the next best thing and chatted with him online and he treated us to some music on his guitar.  The kids loved dancing to his music :).  Thanks Teej...we miss you!!!
SPRING
The Conservatory at the Bellagio
PRETTY LADIES (and Chance)
I just love coming to the Bellagio and experiencing all the colors and smells of Spring.  A perfect place for picture taking with the family.

CALEIGH
Our beautiful girl looks so grown up.
CHANCE
This silly boy loves to make funny faces in front of the camera...can you tell?
CADEN
This is one serious little dude...but oh, sooooo cute!!!

DATE NIGHT
Greg & I rarely get a night out alone (it's pretty tough with 3 little ones), but we managed to sneak out one night, grab some In-n-Out Burgers, and do some sight seeing at the Bellagio.  Fun night!
PLAYING TOURISTS
We no longer live in Vegas, so we technically are tourists...again.  So, here are the kids, my beautiful mom, and me at Caesar's Palace.
FUN IN THE SUNThe kids couldn't wait to get in the pool.  The weather was perfect in the 70-80's during our visit.  We had to soak up as much sun as we could before heading back to the cold in Canada.

MORE FUN POOLSIDE
My cousin Jen stayed at Mandalay Bay with her family and invited us to join them at the pool there.  The kids loved the wading area and the waves that came with it!

It most definitely was a fun 2 weeks in the beautiful, warm, sunny desert.  We almost didn't wan to leave, but unfortunately, all good things come to an end.  We'll miss you all.  Until next time....

Birthday Catch Up...

Okay, okay...so it's been almost half a year since my last post.  What a horrible blogger I've been this year.  Looking back, at least I was able to archive our family's birthdays this year.  (At least half of them, anyway.)

For Greg's birthday, we celebrated at home with a feast.  Since his birthday, our 7 year anniversary and (American) Thanksgiving fall around the same time, we had a big dinner for our little family.  He worked during the day, but once he got home, we had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and all the fixings.  It was Y.U.M.M.Y!!!!
(Ignore Caleigh's pouty face here.  She couldn't wait to eat)
The kids even made homemade cards for their daddy.  Aren't they sweet?

This November, Chance turned 3 years old.  We took the kids swimming, then had a small party for him at home with family.  We had pizza, ice cream, and a delicious M&M cake his mommy made for him.

Taking off with all his loot

Happy 3rd Birthday, Buddy.  We love ya lots!!!

Caden's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Caden's 1st birthday at the end of May with a little party for him at Grandma & Grandpa's house. It was a fun time with family, homemade pizza, cupcakes, cake & ice cream.

Caden enjoyed the cupcakes the most because he had no problem digging into them. Yummmmmmmy!!!

And after a quick bath to wash off all that cake, it was more party fun with...gifts!
He got lots of fun presents like a Choo-Choo-Train, race cars, summer outfits, new sunglasses, and even $50 to start his mission fund :)

Still can't believe how fast he has grown up.  Here are a few random facts about our one year old:
  • he can walk like a pro
  • climbs on everything
  • loves playing at the park
  • his favorite food is bananas
  • can throw a temper tantrum like no other
  • likes to boogie when he hears music
  • can say "mama" and "dada"
  • enjoys splashing in the bathtub
  • can blow kisses
  • is learning to sign "more" and "all done"
  • likes exploring the back yard of Grandma's house
  • bounces on the trampoline
  • we call him "BAM BAM" because he is so strong & likes to bang things
  • experiences moments of "separation anxiety" when away from mommy & daddy
  • can fold his arms during family prayers
We are so blessed to have you in our family, Caden.  Thanks for bringing so much joy and happiness into our lives.  We look forward to more fun years with you!!!
WE LOVE YOU!!!!
