Random Summer Pics

Fall officially starts tomorrow, 9/22/09, so I figured I'd share some pics from our summer.

We started summer off the right way with a BBQ at my cousin Jennifer's house for Memorial Day Weekend.

We enjoyed some swimming time....

and time with family & friends.

Here's the pic we took with Santa this summer. A little early, but...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here's my scruffy husband...

And here's my bald husband.
Quite a change, huh? We were in Canada in July for a family reunion and family portraits, so when picture day came, Greg took a little too much off the sides & decided to just shave it all off...and this was the result.
Still handsome, don't ya think?

SURPRISE!!!

Last week we decided to take an impromptu trip to Las Vegas.
We left late Monday night, drove 25 hours, and arrived at my parent's doorstep Tuesday evening. They had no idea we were coming. My mom was in complete shock, but very happy to see us.
Wednesday night we had dinner with my cousin Jen & her family at TGIF's. She was pretty surprised that we were in town, too, considering we just left two months ago. Luckily we were able to visit because the next day she was leaving town. Caleigh had a fun time playing with her cousins Payton & Nicholas, and I'm glad we were all able to get together.
The following day was a HOT one, so what better way to spend the day than at the pool with some friends. Caleigh & I got together with Jolyn, Nicole & her boys, Dylan & Dalton and cooled off at the pool. The kids had a great time in the water & enjoyed feeding each other cookies.
Friday afternoon, we had lunch with Melissa, Rachel & Adri at one of my favorite places in Vegas...Thai BBQ. I always have cravings for Thai food when I'm pregnant & they definitely have the best Thai food, by far!!! I indulged in their Beef Satay & couldn't resist on the Thai Ice Tea. Bad...but oh, soooooo good!!!
On Saturday, I left Caleigh at home with Greg & did some shopping with my mom & Aunt Mila. We bought some stuff for the baby & stocked up on some Filipino goodies (pan de sal, pan de ube, & ensaymada) from the the bakery. When we got back, my mom made some yummy adobo & had TJ over for dinner. It was good seeing him again & Caleigh had a blast playing with her big brother. We sure do miss him!!
Sunday night we left Vegas, once again. But before we left, we went to church and were able to visit with some old friends at the Sunset Ward. It was really great being back & seeing everyone. Caleigh, of course, couldn't sit still for Sacrament Meeting, so when we were out in the halls, she was able to get some play time in with her old pal Eli. They are just a few weeks apart and it was his first day in nursery. I wish we could have stayed longer so they could have played more...maybe next time.
All in all, it was wonderful to see everyone & visit with family & friends.
I could have done without the heat, but what did I expect...it is Vegas!
Well, we look forward to our next trip...hopefully soon. Miss you all!!!!

July 2009

July has come and gone...here's what we've been up to.
At the beginning of the month, we took a trip up to Canada for a family reunion with Greg's family. We had a great time! It was the first time in about 11 years that all 11 kids were able to be at home at the same time. It was a HUGE reunion with everyone & their kids.
When we returned from Canada, we said good-bye to TJ. He spent half the summer with us in South Dakota and headed back to that desert heat in Vegas. I sure don't miss the heat, but I will sure miss him!!
At my last doctor's appointment, we found out we're having a BOY! The doctor said he weighs about 1lb, 4oz at 22 and a half weeks, heartbeat at 158, and according to the ultrasound, he will make his appearance around Thanksgiving. That is definitely a great blessing to be thankful for.

A New Place to Call Home

Well, it's been about 3 weeks since we left Vegas, so I though I'd update you on what's been going on.
We made it home safely.  YAY!!!
Here are a few pics of the house and the little details that we love.  It's over a hundred years old, but still in fairly good condition.  I love all the wood work and the hardwood floors.  It has the original doorknobs and even some old push button light switches.  Pretty cool.  There's still some restoring we'd like to do, but it'll all come in due time.
It was a 2 day road trip which wasn't too bad.  Caleigh had her moments, but TJ was a great help keeping her entertained on our long journey.  TJ even helped steering while I drove.  He is so itchin' to get his license.  A couple of more years to go.
The day before we left, TJ graduated from 8th grade.  He is finally on to high school.  How crazy is that??  They really do grow up way too fast!!!
I also got to spend some time with friends & family before we left.  I miss all of you already!!!
After we arrived, we took a break from the cleaning & unpacking & visited Storybook Land in Aberdeen.  It's a fun place for families to go to & even better...it was free.  Can't beat that!
We were even able to stop by the Bismarck North Dakota Temple.  It looked beautiful & we look forward to doing a session there one day soon.  Even though it's a 3 hour drive there, we're going to try and make it as often as possible.

Well, that's it for now...stay tuned for more adventures from Sweet Home, South Dakota.
