Yup, it's official...I am now middle-aged. Ughh!!!
Didn't really have anything big planned for the day. Greg had school in the morning, and we got his sister, Alicia to babysit for us later in the day. We were just going to go to town for dinner and a movie for my birthday and our anniversary. Actually going out on a "date" with just my hubby without the kids is something we rarely get to do, so I was going to enjoy it. We were actually able to sneak out without the kids noticing and crying about it, too. Yes!! But before heading to town, we had to run a "supposed" errand and drop off some cheese at the church. Hmmm? Cheese? Okaaaay. Well, once we got to the church, I knew something was up. There were a few familiar vehicles in the parking lot and I was wondering what all of the family was doing there. When we went inside, it smelled delicious, but all the lights were off. Then Greg opened the door to a dark gym to find everyone there..."SURPRISE!"

They got me! Well, not completely. I did have a feeling that something was going down, but didn't know for sure until we pulled into the church. The kids were even there. (So much for having an evening without them - hahaha!) It was great...the hall was decorated in black and white with "Over the Hill" decorations everywhere. There was food enough food there to feed an army - well, maybe not that much, but enough to fill up the Big Robertson Family! And it was all delicious. I'm lucky to have such wonderful sisters-in-law who know how to throw a good party! It was so much fun. From the food, to the cake, and the decorations and fun gifts, and the games and good company...it was a blast!
No one's ever thrown me a surprise party before, so I was pretty stoked to find that the family cared enough about me to do something so big for my 40th. Here I was throwing myself a pity party over turning 40, when all along I should have been grateful for what I have...a loving husband, beautiful kids, a healthy life, and family and friends who care. I am truly blessed. 40 is FABULOUS!!!

Kids at Play
It seems like just yesterday that the kids were little babies. I look at them each day and wonder where the time goes. It amazes me how much they've grown.
Aside from puzzles and learning her alphabets & numbers, Caleigh's new found love is for painting. She got a Paint by Numbers paintbook for her birthday last month, and wants to paint every single day. She's quite the little artist.
Here she is with one of her works of art...
Chance never ceases to amaze me. Even though he is in the "terrible two" stage of his life, he is far from...terrible. He loves to learn and wants to do whatever his big sister does.
And even though he plays with Barbie's and Dora's with Caleigh (shhh...don't tell him I told you), he still likes to play with cars and trucks...and buses, too.
He's a playful little fella.
Peek-a-Boo!
As for Caden, he is growing waaaaaay tooooo fast! He's barely 9 months old, and he already has 6 teeth coming in. (Ouch for me - I'm still nursing.)
I just love his little grin though. Isn't he the sweetest thing?
And now, he can even stand up all by himself. Before we know it, he'll be running up and down the court shooting hoops, just like his daddy :) Move over Kobe...there's a new all-star in town!
Sure, there are days when they can drive me crazy with their whining, crying and fighting, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. They are my world!
They are such wonderful blessings and I am so grateful to be their mom. It just warms my heart seeing them play together and love one another.
Now, if only they could stop growing up so fast.

Tickled Pink
It's hard to believe, but our Caleigh girl turned four years old this past weekend. We celebrated with a small party at home with a few friends over.
Thanks to my newest addiction, Pinterest, I was able to find a ton of cool ideas for her party.
We decided on a "THINK PINK" theme, since all she wanted for her birthday was a "pink cake." Yup...that meant lots and lots of pink!
Pink cake, pink lemonade, pink balloons, pink pom poms, pink party glasses, pink cookies, pink...everything.
Even all our guests wore pink, red & white. It sure did make for great pics.
Thanks to everyone who came & made it a special day for our little princess!
We're so blessed to have this beautiful, little girl in our lives.
She's grown up so much this past year.
She's a great big sister; is so independent; very loving; smart;
and yes, sassy at times, but all in all, a joy to have around.
Thanks for being so cool, Caleigh!
Happy 4th, Baby Girl!
We love you so much!!!!!!
